Can't connect! :S

Hey, lately I haven't been able to connect to either of the CS:S servers... Although it is like this, in the past I was able to join them... It doesn't appear as <not responding> but when I try connecting, it gets stuck at parsing info and sits there for about 5 minutes then says Connection to server lost or something similar to that.... Any ideas?

When was this?
Some changes were made to server recenty..give it another try.
btw what steam are you using?

Uhh... It happened a few weeks ago, can't remember exactly, just decided to post today. And I'm using stand-alone/no-steam, but that shouldn't be a problem, because my friend is using the exact same client as me and he can connect perfectly.

Ack! Sorry, to bother you again, but the problem has come back... This time it started again after I reinstalled the game (my skins were messed up :S) any ideas this time?

...Im not sure why you would be get that error...
I have never been able to produce that error on my computer so Im not sure what you should do. Are you sure you are not banned?

I am positive that I'm not banned, as it would say in the console. Also, because it's been awhile since I've been on.

It worked fine for you until you reinstalled? And after the reinstall it downloads all materials then stays at parsing?

Yes, it happened after I reinstalled, but, I didn't download anything. It just stays at Parsing info...

The last time you had this problem and it went away.. did you change anything? I am looking into it now. Do me a favor every now and then try to join the server today. Let me know if anything changes.

No, I hadn't changed anything... It just randomly fixed itself. And sure, will do.

Fixed! Sorry I wasn't able to check a little more often... Been a bit busy with school and whatnot! :S

Ok cool..still not sure what it was but I did a cleanup of server cahe files and a few other things related to loading order. So hope that is fixed now for the few that have had problems with it..
And ty btw after looking into this I optimized some things and now server load times are better.

Aaaargh! What the ****!!! It keeps coming and going!!! This is really starting to piss me off. Sorry to bother you with this again :S.

... you should really just use Pacsteam or cracked steam or legit steam. the standalone copy like digital zone have lots of other problems anyway. And I bet when you do that your joining problem will be gone also
