Map Making Talk
Just making this thread for talking about map making.
lol I decided to give making my own map a try after caboose made a map even though I have other stuff to mess with and...
I made my first map in like 3 minutes.. I didnt know it would be that easy.. light enitys and all..
you cant really tell in the screens but I used many lighting types like colored glow, pulsing, spotlights, multiple flickering etc.
just learning some more stuff

Speaking of maps, What should be added into zm_caboose?
Current list (Can be edited):
all 50 spawn points.
Room to spawn in.
Ladders in various places.
What else? I can throw in a house or so, Put in a watch tower somewhere. Just tell me what needs to be added, Or i can give you guys the uncompiled version and you guys can tweak it if you want.
and the lighting in your map is badass Cadi. Which Light entitity did you use for it?

what one? I used many lighting methods in those maps you just cant see all the effects in a single frame.. Are you talking about the sunlight effect ?

Yeah, It just looks really well mad. The lighting is actually lighting the map. Really nice man. Hopefully i get a similar effect to what i just added.

Use light enviroment place it where you want it and adjust your pitch and brightness how you want it. Then it will create a realistic sunlight effect. You can also adjust the light color.

mine will be ready tonight, it's very tall & open.

Suggestions for your map caboose (we played it):
-Make some "holdout" rooms, this way the humans can survive while the admins are making the rooms and shit.
-Put a shitload of props around the map (along the walls and in the holdout rooms) so that we have something to barricade the rooms with besides a washer box (e.g. vending machines, couches, etc.)
-You can make the map a tiny bit smaller, because the size of this is like the beginning of echo_boatescape_extended.
This is in addition to the ones you've already listed yourself.
I think i'm going to like this map.

I added beta7 to the server. Still lots to do but should still be fun and this way I can get more suggestions. There have been many changes since last set of screenshots
